Study Group Facilitation

Volunteers organize and lead study groups, promoting collaborative learning and discussion around the Qur’an and Islamic teachings. 

Teaching and Tutoring

Volunteers provide instruction in Qur’anic studies, helping students of all ages learn to read, understand, and apply the teachings of the Qur’an. 

Resource Management

Volunteers help manage educational resources such as books, audio materials, and digital content, ensuring students have access to the tools they need for effective learning.

Student Support

Event Coordination

Volunteers assist in organizing educational events such as seminars, guest lectures, and Qur’an recitation competitions.

Case Management Support

Volunteers assist in managing and organizing the cases of families seeking help. This includes maintaining records of interactions, following up on the status of each family, and ensuring that families are receiving the services they need.

Resource Coordination

Volunteers liaise(working together) with local organizations, charities, and governmental bodies to coordinate resources for families, such as food, housing, or financial assistance.

Emotional and Social Support

Volunteers provide emotional support by listening to the concerns of family members, offering comfort during difficult times, and helping to resolve conflicts. They may also provide social support by connecting families to community resources or other families facing similar challenges.

Event Organization

Volunteers help plan and coordinate events that aim to strengthen family bonds and promote community engagement. These can include family counseling sessions, community social gatherings, Eid festivals and educational workshops.

Cultural Sensitivity

Volunteers are expected to understand and respect the cultural and religious values of the families they support, ensuring all interactions are conducted in a manner that is sensitive to their beliefs and practices or according Islam.10

Daily Living Assistance

Volunteers assist individuals with disabilities and their families in performing daily living activities. This can include help with mobility, personal care, meal preparation, and transportation to appointments.

Advocacy

Volunteers may advocate on behalf of individuals with disabilities to ensure they receive equal access to services and opportunities. This can involve working with schools, employers, or local government bodies.

Emotional and Social Support

Providing emotional support is crucial. Volunteers offer companionship and encouragement, helping to alleviate feelings of isolation or frustration often experienced by individuals with disabilities.

Volunteers help organize and run events that are accessible to people with disabilities, such as support groups, religious activities, or educational workshops, community social gatherings, Eid festivals.

Volunteers help families and individuals access necessary services such as educational resources, religious resource. They may also assist in filling out forms or applying for benefits.

Volunteers help organize events and activities that foster a sense of community among reverts, such as iftar gatherings, Eid festivals, study circles, and social gathering, workshops.

Islamic Education
Volunteers assist reverts in learning about Islam, including Qur’anic studies, prayer practices, and Islamic history. They may also provide resources such as books and online courses.

Cultural Sensitivity
Volunteers are sensitive to the unique challenges faced by reverts, respecting their background and providing non-judgmental support.

Individual Volunteer Supports

Conduct Quran Lessons:

Lead regular sessions for children and adults, focusing on Quran recitation, Tajweed (pronunciation rules), and memorization.

Prepare Lesson Plans:

Develop structured and engaging lesson plans tailored to students’ levels and learning pace.

Encourage Understanding of Quranic Teachings:

Explain meanings, themes, and moral lessons of Quranic verses to foster spiritual growth and understanding.

Assess Student Progress:

Monitor students’ progress, provide feedback, and adjust teaching methods to meet individual needs.

Promote a Positive Learning Environment:

Create a respectful, welcoming, and motivating atmosphere to encourage students’ love and dedication to learning the Quran.

Provide General Legal Education and Workshops

Role: Volunteer lawyers with international expertise can host workshops or informational sessions on topics such as international human rights, global legal trends, or legal frameworks in various countries.Limitation: They must avoid providing specific legal advice or representing individuals in any legal matters under Canadian law.

Assist with Legal Research

Role: Volunteers can conduct research on international legal principles, global legal systems, or country-specific laws to support the Trust’s advocacy efforts, policy development, or educational initiatives.Limitation: This research is intended for informational purposes only and should not be used for offering legal counsel or representing individuals.

Help with Administrative Support

Role: Volunteer lawyers can assist with administrative duties, such as organizing legal documents, preparing educational materials, or coordinating legal clinics by managing appointments and files.Limitation: They must not undertake tasks requiring a legal license, such as reviewing contracts or advising clients on legal matters.

Mentor and Support Volunteer Lawyers or Students

Role: International legal experts can mentor local law students or junior lawyers in areas such as international law, human rights, or cross-border legal issues, sharing their expertise and experiences.Limitation: Mentorship should focus on non-Canadian legal systems and must not involve any formal legal practice within Canada.

Offer Pro Bono Services in Non-Legal Capacities

Role: Volunteers can assist with non-legal tasks, including community outreach, advocating for marginalized groups, or contributing to the Trust’s public relations and fundraising efforts.Limitation: Pro bono contributions should not include legal representation or advice under Canadian law unless the volunteer holds the necessary licensure.

Client Assessment and Support

Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ needs, including areas such as mental health, housing, financial stability, and social support, to create personalized care plans.

Provide case management services, offering ongoing support, referrals, and resources to help clients work toward their personal and family goals.

Maintain accurate records of donations, expenses, and other financial transactions in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
